We reinvent ourselves minute by minute to meet our society’s needs. Hand in hand with sustainability and architecture, we bring you the cabins designed by Jorge Cobo, A Forest for Rest.

A Forest for Rest, a sustainable project by designer Jorge Cobo, transports our daily lives to the forest. These small eco-cabins are designed to fulfill all the functions we need without harming the planet’s ecosystem, making them completely ecological and contributors to the circular economy.

Inside the cabin: the necessary useful space

Jorge Cobo’s design is a prefabricated cabin that can be suspended between trees or set on the ground. This previous element makes the eco cabin versatile, and depending on your preferences, it can adapt to you.

These small houses are inspired by the treehouse we all had or dreamed of as children. This house has an interior of 19.3 square meters of living space. Its cladding starts with wooden slats that envelop the house.

The wood manufacturing process uses substantially less energy from fossil fuels per unit volume than other materials such as steel, concrete, or aluminum. Wood is very easy and safe to handle and is a non-toxic element. That means it has sustainable construction, as the carbon footprint it leaves is very low.

Renewable energy: equip the cabin with solar panels

This house is fully customizable, as you can add and remove gadgets. An example of this is elements regarding renewable energies. You can complete your cabin with solar panels, water renewal systems, green roofs, and a ground-coupled heat exchanger.

Jorge Cobo, the designer of these wonderful eco-cabins, states that:

“The treehouse is the materialization of a desire for adventure and reconciliation with nature.”

Jorge Cobo introduces these cabins into nature, integrating the sense of peace that we often lack in our daily lives in the city. In this way, he takes the opportunity to design a reconciliation with nature. This generous proposal only asks us, in exchange, not to harm its surroundings.

Volume Zero Competition: Best Tiny House of the Year 2020

Jorge Cobo’s project has been awarded “The Best Tiny House of 2020.” These awards originated from the Volume Zero Competition. These awards were created to promote sustainability and individuality through designers.

This jury awarded three prizes of $4,000 to the best “Tiny House” proposals. Among these proposals, Jorge Cobo with his Forest for Rest project was the first prize winner.
