Last week, was celebrated the launch of the brand’s graphic novel ‘Girl in Dior’ (‘Jeune fille en Dior’) at the French embassy in the US. A historical tour in which Claire, a fashion journalist, is entering us. The journey starts on February 12th 1947, when the French socialité came to the first show of the maison.
Claire, sent by the magazine Le Jardin des Modes, lives in a modest apartment in Paris and does not know her life is about to change. Monsieur Dior selects Clara to serve as a muse and model of the brand, and she tells us the incredible world that involves the maison throught the stories of Annie Goetzinger and the illustrations of the artist Bil Donovan. In this pages, we will see Carmel Snow, of Harper’s Bazaar; Bettina Ballard, of Vogue; and Hélène Lazareff Gondon of ELLE magazine.
The whole universe, from the exclusive fashion shows to New Look, drawn on a graphic novel that runs through 1947, when the designer presented a collection that turns fashionable the woman as an object.
