The first Nobu Hotel arrives in Barcelona. It blends contemporary luxury, avant-garde design and Japanese minimalism. Home to the first Nobu restaurant in Barcelona, which offers an excellent gastronomic proposal by the hand of chef Nobu Matsuhisa in where you can enjoy incredible 360-degree views of the city and the sea.

This new space is the result of an alliance between Nobu Hospitality, founded by Nobu Matsuhisa, Robert De Niro and Meir Teper, and Selenta Group, the Spanish hotel group owned by Jordi Mestre. It is the first Nobu hotel in Spain, though not the first Nobu restaurant, as it joins its predecessors in Marbella and Ibiza. .

The design combines Japanese minimalism and the colorful character of the city of Barcelona.
Its 23 floors will house a total of 259 rooms and suites. The most special, the Nobu suite, measuring 150 square meters and located on the 22nd floor with stunning views of Barcelona’s skyline.
The 150 m2 Nobu Suite is located on the 22nd floor with spectacular panoramic views of the city and the Mediterranean. The suite has a dining room, living room, a bar area and an impressive centerpiece of a traditional Japanese irori fireplace.
In this first opening phase, the establishment will open part of its suites, the Nobu restaurant and bar, as well as its spaces for events and meetings. The spa, gym, the Kozara bar and the rest of the rooms will be opened between the end of this year and early 2020.
All these spaces have been designed by the renowned architectural firm Rockwell Group in a luxurious yet relaxed style that perfectly integrates Japanese minimalism with the colorful character of the Catalan capital. .

Thus, one can see natural and organic materials that evoke Japanese aesthetics but capture the energetic and colorful personality of the city. Materials that are used in designs such as that of Gaudi’s modernist trencadís and also in traditional Japanese techniques such as Kintsugi, the art of repairing broken ceramic pieces with gold, silver or platinum.

The Nobu Hotel is also home to the Nobu Restaurant in a privileged location at the top of the building. This allows diners to enjoy not only the exquisite gastronomic offerings, but also the incredible 360-degree views over the city and the sea.

Following the philosophy initiated by the innovative chef Nobu Matsuhisa, Hervé Courtot, chef of the Barcelona restaurant, has devised a proposal that pays tribute to local ingredients, with raw materials of the highest quality, and to the brand’s classics, which are now reinterpreted within the context of signature cuisine and with a Japanese inspiration.

Thus, the extensive menu is composed of both innovative new dishes and some of Nobu’s signatures dishes. Yellow tail Sashimi with Jalapeños or Black Cod with Miso are the names of some of them. In just a few months, at the end of the year, this gastronomic proposal will be completed with the Kozara bar and the Nobu Café, in the lobby of the hotel.
