This year, to celebrate 23 April, Sant Jordi’s Day, Majestic Hotel & Spa Barcelona is once again joining forces with Fundació IRES through the campaign “A rose for a cause”. In this way, they will raise funds to help families at risk and socially vulnerable. The delivery will start at 9.00h until 20.00h, joining affection, letters and solidarity.
On Sunday 23 April the streets will be flooded, as they are every year, with books and roses. A tradition of giving love and affection to those you love and care about, through small works on paper and flowers. Many of the points of sale have the aim of raising money in solidarity, and on this occasion, theMajestic Hotel will be one of them. More than 1,200 roses will dress up the entrance to the complex, with all the money collected going to Fundació IRES‘s social, educational and psychological programmes. For the little ones, next to the door full of flowers, a dragon will be waiting for them to celebrate one of the most special days of the year.
In addition to the satisfaction of making a small contribution to people in need, some of the roses will come with various surprises. Those lucky enough to choose the right flower will be able to enjoy tasting menus at the SOLC Restaurant, treatments at the Majestic SPA or stays with breakfast for 2 people. On the other hand, Majestic and Fundació IRES already have an open draw to win a night in a suite for two at the hotel by participating through the campaign’s website.
As every Sunday, from 13.00h to 16.30h, the SOLC restaurant serves the Majestic Brunch, offering visitors to spend a relaxing time while tasting local and quality products. Well-prepared dishes led by Michelin-starred chef Nandu Jubany, who will also be on hand to sign his book Receptes per compartir en familia (Recipes for sharing with the family). The Catalan chef, dedicated to his craft, is always involved in representing his cuisine. Last month he took part in a special day at the restaurant celebrating the sixth edition of Passeig de Gourmets.
Fundació IRES as the centre of a resource ecosystem
Fundació IRES has been present since the 70s, which already had the objective of helping all those people with social needs. Over the years they have grown by offering new opportunities to families at risk of exclusion due to economic, employment or social problems. Currently, they have spaces of accompaniment and support for infants and adults. From foster care programmes, workshops to help reorganise day-to-day social life, or psychological care for couples, among many others.
